100% Human Guarantee Campaign Terms and Conditions

The ‘100% Human Guarantee Campaign’ (the Campaign) is conducted by Prolific Academic Ltd (Prolific) of 483 Green Lanes, London, N13 4BS, United Kingdom. By entering the Campaign, you agree to the terms below and any decisions made by Prolific, which are final and binding, in relation to this campaign.

Eligibility and Campaign Background:
1. Through this Campaign, Researchers who have launched a study using bot authenticity checks via Prolific may be eligible to receive a refund of Prolific credits, if Prolific’s bot authenticity checks identify the presence of an AI agent in the study responses with a ‘low authenticity’ rating. Credits issued will be equivalent to two times (2x) the reward issued to any participant(s) in the relevant study (see clause 4 for full details on the refunded Credits).
2. The Campaign is open to Researchers who have a Researcher account on Prolific, and meet the eligibility requirements detailed under clause 2.
3. The Campaign is open to legal residents of all jurisdictions except Brazil, Italy and Spain, and all Researchers must be at least 18 years of age at the time of running the study.
4. Employees and contractors of Prolific and its group companies, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to be included in the Campaign.
Eligibility Requirements:
1. To have a study be eligible for inclusion in the Campaign, Researchers must have:
  1. Published a legitimate study (i.e. for an academic research or professional purpose) on Prolific to recruit participants (the Study);
  2. Published the Study at, or after, 2pm (UTC) on Tuesday 31st March 2026 (the Campaign Period);
  3. Used Qualtrics to host the Study;
  4. Enabled the use of bot authenticity checks. For the avoidance of doubt, any studies launched that use LLM authenticity checks will not be eligible for inclusion in the Campaign. The Campaign is limited to only include studies that have enabled bot authenticity checks; and
  5. Not instructed participants to use any form of AI or assistive technology in their submissions to the Study. If participants are requested to use any automated tools, scripts, agents or other forms of assistive technology in their submission to a Study, the Study will not be eligible for the Campaign.
2. All studies that meet the above criteria will be included in the Campaign, unless you notify us that you do not wish for your Study to be included. Contact us via the support chatbot in the bottom right hand corner of the Help Center if you wish to opt out. If your opt out is processed after Credits have been issued as part of the Campaign, we can remove these from your account.
3. Beyond Prolific’s standard platform fees required to publish the Study via Prolific, no additional payment is required to be eligible for inclusion in the Campaign.
4. Researchers must run the Study using bot authenticity checks in good faith. For avoidance of doubt, Researchers must not engage, or attempt to engage, in any conduct that manipulates, or artificially triggers eligibility for the Campaign. Prolific reserves the right to take action in relation to such behaviour, as detailed under Clause 7 of these terms.
Length of Campaign and Eligible Studies:
1. The Campaign will run from 2pm (UTC) on Tuesday 31st March 2026, until terminated, at Prolific’s discretion. The Campaign includes all eligible studies published via Prolific at, or after this time.
2. Any studies published before this time will not be included in the Campaign.
Refund of Credits
1. If Prolific’s bot authenticity checks flag any participant(s) in the Study as AI agents with a ‘low authenticity’ rating (see our help centre article ‘What are authenticity checks’ for more information), Prolific will issue credits to the Researcher account, equivalent to two times (x2) the reward issued to any participant in the Study, plus the service fee and VAT (if applicable) associated with that reward (collectively, the Credits).
2. Where applicable, Prolific will promptly (but in any event, within 21 days of the Study being published) issue any Credits to the Researcher account.
3. All Credits shall be issued in the same currency as the participant reward for which the Credit is issued.
4. The Credits are non-transferable, non-exchangeable. No cash alternatives will be offered and the Credits can only be used on the Prolific platform.
5. Prolific reserves the right to substitute the Credits with an alternative form of reimbursement, of equal or greater value, if Prolific considers necessary.
6. If you receive Credits under the Campaign, you shall be solely responsible for complying with any applicable legal, tax or regulatory requirements in your local jurisdiction, arising from the receipt and/or future use of the Credits. Prolific shall have no responsibility or liability in relation to such obligations.
Refund Notification
1. Where applicable, you will receive an email notification once the payment of any Credits has been successfully issued.
2. If you have not received the Credits within 21 days after the submission was flagged, you should contact our support team via our chatbot in the bottom right corner of the Help Center.
Data Protection
1. Prolific only processes a limited amount of personal information about you in relation to the Campaign. This information will be used solely for the administration of the Campaign, for example, to notify Researchers that are entitled to receive Credits. Any personal data processed will be handled in accordance with our Researcher Privacy Notice.
General Terms
1. Prolific reserves the right to:
  1. Disqualify or withdraw any Study from being included in the Campaign that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, unlawful or otherwise in violation of these terms, or our Researcher Terms. You agree that you will have no claim against us in respect of that disqualification or withdrawal;
  2. Take any further action we deem appropriate, including suspending or terminating your Researcher Account immediately without notice, and/or recovering the value of any Credits obtained illegitimately through any activity;
  3. Restrict you from participating in, or gaining the benefit of, future offers or campaigns on Prolific; or
  4. Cancel or change the Campaign, or modify the value of Credits, at any time and without notice or liability to you. This may occur due to unforeseen circumstances or entirely at Prolific’s discretion.
2. These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree that the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with this Campaign or these terms.
