By entering this Promotion, you agree to the terms below (the “Terms”) and any decisions made by Prolific, which are final and binding, in relation to this Promotion.

Capitalised terms used in these Terms but not defined shall have the same meaning assigned to them in the Researcher Terms.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Eligibility
    1. This Promotion is open to new academics that create a Researcher Account on Prolific using a valid email address from an established and recognised academic institution in accordance with these Terms and the Researcher Terms.
    2. The same email address must not have been previously registered or used to create an account on Prolific.
    3. Prolific reserves the right to verify active engagement in academic and research activities at an established and recognised institution, and to deny or revoke eligibility to this Promotion if proof cannot be provided.
    4. This Promotion is not open to new users located in jurisdictions where such promotional campaigns are prohibited or restricted by law, included but not limited to Belarus, Bosnia and Kosovo, and all researchers must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.
    5. For the avoidance of doubt, this Promotion is null and void in jurisdictions where otherwise restricted or prohibited by law. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure participation in the Promotion is lawful in their jurisdiction.
  2. Entry Period
    1. The Promotion opens at 00:00 GMT 10th October 2025 and closes at 00:00 GMT 31st October 2025 (the “Promotion Period”).
    2. Any new Researcher Account created outside of the Promotion Period will not be considered eligible for the Promotion.
  3. How to Enter
    1. To enter the Promotion, individuals must: (i) create a Researcher Account using a valid email address from an established and recognised academic institution; (ii) not previously have signed up as a Researcher on Prolific; and (iii) within fourty-four (44) days of creating the account, credit their account with either twenty-five British pounds (£25) or twenty-five U.S. dollars ($25). The Researcher will be responsible for any costs and charges incurred by them in crediting their account, including but not limited to any bank or payment provider charges, exchange rate fluctuations, and currency conversion fees that may apply.
    2. Prolific reserves the right to limit participation in this Promotion to the first fifty (50) individuals per jurisdiction who sign up to Prolific as a Researcher and meet all the eligibility requirements.
  4. Promotion Credit and Restrictions
    1. Upon satisfying the requirements detailed in clause 3.1., the Researcher will promptly receive promotional credit in their Researcher Account valued at one hundred British pounds sterling (£100) or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) (the “Promotional Credit”). The Promotional Credit issued to the Researcher Account shall be in the same currency as the Researcher used when they initially credited their Researcher Account.
    2. The Promotional Credit will expire and become void if the Researcher does not complete the top-up detailed in clause 3.1. within forty-four (44) days of creating their account. Once expired, the Promotional Credit cannot be redeemed, reinstated or recovered.
    3. The Promotional Credit has no cash value and is issued for the sole purpose of use on Prolific and may only be used to cover Study Costs as defined in our Researcher Terms.
    4. For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotional Credit is non-transferable and non-assignable. The Promotional Credit:
      1. May only be used on Prolific by the Researcher that originally opened the Researcher Account;
      2. Cannot be transferred to another Researcher Account, academic institution or individual;
      3. Cannot be sold, withdrawn or exchanged for any cash or other value; and
      4. Will be forfeited if any attempt is made to withdraw, transfer, sell or exchange it.
    5. If we reasonably believe that you are using, or attempting to use, the Promotional Credit unlawfully, illegally or contrary to these Terms or our Researcher Terms, we reserve the right to:
      1. Withdraw or cancel the Promotional Credit at any time and without prior notice to you, and you agree that you will have no claim against us in respect of that withdrawal or cancellation;
      2. Take any further action we deem appropriate, which may include suspending or terminating your Researcher Account (and any associated Participant Account) immediately without notice, and/or recovering the value of the Promotional Credit; and
      3. We may restrict you from participating in, or gaining the benefit of future offers or promotions on Prolific.
  5. Data Protection
    1. Any personal data provided when you sign up to Prolific will be processed in accordance with our Researcher Privacy Notice.
  6. General Terms
    1. Prolific reserves the right to:
      1. Disqualify entries that we reasonably believe to be incomplete, illegible, fraudulent or otherwise violate these Terms.
      2. Cancel the Promotion as necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
    2. These Terms shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, its Terms and our Researcher Terms.
