Prolific’s Coming Out Policy

At Prolific, we are committed to supporting and protecting employees who decide to come out as any identity within the LGBTQIA+ umbrella.

This policy is designed to support all employees and ensures that we oppose all forms of discrimination and help create an inclusive and respectful work environment, regardless of someone's sexual orientation or gender identity.

We know that deciding to come out is private, and employees can do it when they want. We respect employees’ right to keep their personal life private and understand that they may not want to tell anyone at work about their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Prolific is dedicated to ensuring that employees are safe from discrimination and harassment. If any employee experiences discrimination or harassment after revealing their identity, Prolific will take action to resolve the issue according to our disciplinary policy and support the employee.

Employees who want to come out can tell their manager or someone in the People team, and the information will be kept confidential 🔒. We won't share any information without your permission.

We have provided our managers with training on how to respond when employees come out and how to create a supportive work environment. All employees at Prolific will have the chance to learn about LGBTQIA+ topics and how important it is to have an inclusive workplace.

We abide by and support the United Kingdom's Equality Act of 2010 and Ireland's Employment Equality Act of 2004, and support the anti-discrimination provisions outlined in the New York State Human Rights Law.
